Precast Concrete

One of the world’s oldest and most popular materials gets the 21st-century treatment

High quality, durable precast and prestressed concrete forms designed with the future in mind

Business must evolve. It must adapt. And it must innovate.

Business must also be nimble. It must create new forms and processes where and when current methods are no longer adequate or efficient enough to keep pace with the ever-increasing speed of production and new insights.

This is the case whether one is working with new technologies — or with one of the world’s most ancient building materials.

At Precast Concrete LLC, we happen to work with both.

A Brief History of Concrete

Concrete has long been the world’s most popular building material. It is found just about everywhere inhabited by humans. In fact, the only substance used by people in greater quantities is water.

People have created concrete using sand, gravel, cement-like substances, and water since ancient times. The Egyptians and the Romans built extensively with concrete, and many of their most magnificent structures remain standing to this day.

Many thousands of years before that — circa 6,500 BCE — builders in Syria and Jordan were using concrete for housing, flooring, and water storage. (Very) long story short: Concrete is older than clay pottery. Its earliest building material brethren? Rock and wood.

The basic ingredients of concrete have not changed. What has changed is its performance. Modern concrete is stronger, more durable, more reliable, and more customizable than ever before.

And with the evolution of modern production techniques and a welcome and increasing awareness of our shared ecology, concrete can now be produced in ways that limit its impact on our shared environment.

It’s within this matrix of improved production and performance that Precast Concrete LLC plies its trade.

Precast Concrete

Precast concrete is concrete that is formed into specific shapes and forms. It’s engineered, designed, and manufactured in controlled environments and then shipped to job sites where it is erected or buried in place.

Precast concrete is prefabricated, prestressed, and ready to be moved to its permanent location. This eliminates the need to pour concrete into forms on site.

It saves money. It saves time. And it is an infinitely flexible building solution.

At our facility in Fife, Washington, we work extensively on precast concrete forms that we ship throughout the Pacific Northwest. These forms include catch basins, utility vaults, vault risers, and drainage structures.

We oversee every step of the process ourselves. This guarantees a high quality, consistent product that you can rely on again and again for your concrete applications.
